I remember being 16 and reading and re-reading Watchmen, the pleasant shock and awe born of the cinematic surprise moments that bombarded my impressionable soul throughout the final two chapters still buzzing under my nerd skin — and being so thoroughly obsessed that I decided to show my mom my favorite issue, forgetting that it contained the Silk Spectre/Night Owl sex scenes and sweating like hell while she thumbed through the pages.
